Candid Living ("we", "us", "our") builds mobile apps and operates the website at candidliving.au. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what choices you have. We keep it plain because privacy shouldn't need a translator.
The short version: we collect as little as possible, we don't sell your data to anyone, and where an app can work without collecting personal information, we design it that way.

Information we collect
On our website. Our website is a simple, mostly static site. We may collect basic, aggregated analytics such as page views and general region, which do not identify you personally. We do not use advertising trackers.
In our apps. The exact data depends on the app, and each app's store listing describes its data practices. As a general rule:
- Where an app can run entirely on your device, it does, and your data never leaves your phone.
- Some apps use your device's sensors (for example, motion sensors) purely to function. This information is processed on your device and is not transmitted to us.
- If you contact us for support, we receive whatever you choose to send us, such as your email address and the contents of your message.
How we use information
We use the limited information we collect to:
- operate, maintain, and improve our website and apps;
- respond to your questions and support requests;
- understand, in aggregate, how our products are used so we can make them better;
- meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not use your personal information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to third parties.
Sharing your information
We only share information in a small number of situations:
- Service providers who help us run our business (for example, hosting or analytics), bound to handle data only on our instructions;
- Legal reasons, where we're required to disclose information by law or to protect our rights and users' safety;
- Business transfers, if the studio is ever involved in a merger or acquisition, in which case we'll notify you of any change.
Data storage and security
Security is part of how we build, not an afterthought. We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect information we hold. Where data can stay on your device, we keep it there. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your information and to limit how much we hold in the first place.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. To make a request, email us at hello@candidliving.au and we'll respond within a reasonable time. Australian users are protected under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Children
Our apps and website are not directed at children under the age required for consent in their region, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.
Third-party links
Our website and apps may link to third-party services, such as the Google Play Store. Those services have their own privacy policies, and we're not responsible for their practices. We encourage you to read them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we'll take reasonable steps to let you know.
